The Organization of Islamic Cooperation Humanitarian Funds

We represent the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Humanitarian Funds (“OICHF”), a humanitarian relief organization headquartered in Doha, Qatar, providing advice and legal representation for itself and its 40+ members organizations with the view to achieve carrying out their objectives within the international standards and regulations applicable to them.  We provide the following services to our clients:-

Legal Representation;

  • Visit to the Client’s office(s) to assess the practices, policies etc. and provide reports;
  • Train staff on compliance, legal, regulatory & financial systems, risks and preventive measures, operational issues and international standards as well as increase positive profile and reputation and deal with negative image if such is the case;
  • Review Constitutions / Policy papers, operations, undertake a comprehensive risk assessment, and help build and implement a compliance structure to the international standards taking into account your local customs and laws;
  • Tailored internal policies, procedures and controls to ensure international standards and compliance; Draft policy documents, compliance documents etc.;
  • Implement and maintain effective, efficient financial crimes compliance policies & programs;
  • Understand OICHF’s and its members’ structure and recommend enhancements to its current control regime, while assisting OICHF and its members to develop a plan that will ultimately give national and global correspondent banks comfort in processing its payments, and to develop an understanding of how OICHF and its members might mitigate potential risks;

  • Implement and maintain effective, efficient financial crimes compliance policies & programs;
  • Understand OICHF’s and its members’ structure and recommend enhancements to its current control regime, while assisting OICHF and its members to develop a plan that will ultimately give national and global correspondent banks comfort in processing its payments, and to develop an understanding of how OICHF and its members might mitigate potential risks;
  • Help meet regulatory expectations to detect and prevent and will advise in matters related to financial crimes compliance, i.e., anti-money laundering, anti-bribery and corruption and sanctions, reputation management, crisis management, public relations and strategic communications, anti-terrorism regulations;
  • Conduct due diligence work on individuals and organisations you collaborate;
  • Deal with and advice on issues relating to mergers and collaborations;
  • Deal with and advice on operational issues including trading and fundraising;
  • Deal with and advice on commercial issues including contracts, grants and intellectual property;

  • Governance, and relationships between trustees, management, funders/donors and other stakeholders; Balancing your charitable objectives with the need to operate a sustainable charity with impact;
  • Lobby for and obtaining special observation status with bodies and organisations such as the UN;
  • Making representations to international financial organisations on your behalf;
  • Reputation and PR management and marketing;
  • Work on and promote positive profile, deal with bad press and smearing complaints if any;
  • Regular and as and when needed checks to update policy and practice in accordance with national and international standards;
